The dreaded month that follows the festive season is finally through, yes January has left the building at long last, yippee! I think its safe to say that it is not everyone’s favourite time of the year, what with the empty pockets and purses from the excessive Christmas shopping, the full bellies from all the over indulging and if you are anything like me, the constant battle to keep those nasty coughs and colds at bay through the dreary winter days.
But cheer up everyone…with the arrival of February brings the month of LOVE and ROMANCE, and mid month is a time to show that special someone in your life just how much they mean to you.
Valentines Day….. Now there are countless ways of saying “I love you” to your better half, be it with luxury boxes of chocolates, lavish bouquets of freshly cut flowers, a slap-up meal in a fancy restaurant or even a romantic trip for two, the list these days really is endless..
Call me old fashioned but the novelty of Valentines Day these days is squeezing out all the romance, surely it’s not the size or price tag on the Valentines Day gift that is important, it’s the thoughts behind them and the words that have been hand written with them. To me nothing says I love you on Valentines Day more than a small thoughtful gift or a hand made card.
